Actually, I should have asked that ''Do you know Madonna in a Fur Coat ? ''. Because of modern culture, the book is widely known among people. They taking pictures with book in various place and poses. But most of them do not read the book and do not know the contents of the book. They just keep up with vogue. Even worse, before a short time ago, I came across a woman on TV. She supposed that Madonna's life is narrated in the book. What an ignorance ... If you do not read, you should not draw the longbow.
Anyway, Let's learn some details about Sabahattin ALİ and his novels.
Sabahattin ALİ
Sabahattin ALİ was a Turkish novelist, short-story writer, poet, and journalist. He was born in 1907 in Eğridere township of the Sanjak of Gümülcine, in the ottoman Empire. Any part of his life, he lived in Istanbul, Çanakkale and Edremit. After he had married to Aliye, he had a girl whose name was Filiz ALİ.
Upon his release from prison, he suffered financial troubles. His application for a passport was denied. He was killed at the Bulgarian border, probably on 1 or 2 April 1948. His body was found on June 16, 1948. It is believed that he was killed because of his political opinions.
Yusuf of Kuyucak
''Happiness is taking life as it comes'' (pg. 157)
Yusuf of Kuyucak was published in 1937 which was the first novel of Sabahattin ALİ. It is on the list of 100 Basic Works in Turkey. The book mentions a small child whose name is Yusuf. After his parents are killed, he is adopted by a district governor. Also, when he grows up, he falls in love with his stepfather's daughter whose name is Muazzez. Generally, the book tells about their love that full of difficulties.

One day, while he participate in a painting exhibition, he is impressed one of painting which created by Maria Puder. Then, almost every day, he goes the exhibition and admires to the painting. Maria realizes that Raif's relevance of the painting. In the following days, they become acquainted with each other. They do walkings, meetings, talkings... Finally they get used to each other and sorrowfull love story begins...
